Quests just stop? - Guild Wars Forums

I have an alt that is on Factions and with the exceptions of completing missions, the quests never end. I was informed that there was very little to no grinding in this game to level. My issue is that I started a paragon on NF and by the time I reached level 9, was completely out of quests, and was approx 140 sunspear points short of being able to continue my primary quest line.

Every inch of the map has been discovered, every town I am able to access is discovered etc. There is no untouched map area, save for the southern islands, which they are not allowing me in to, and the very western part, near first city. I don't have access to that either.

THis is very frustrating. I have been grinding for hours and have finally reached level 10, but no one seems to know what is wrong or why my quests have stopped. I haven't abandoned any, so no missing chains either.

I am about to just quit at this point. I keep reading NF is the fastest leveling, and I just don't see it without having enough quests to hit level 12 fr the primary. The other option is to start over, and grind out 150+ mobs without zoning so I get the sunspear points...so I would have to make sure I stay logged in for probably 4-6+ hours.

Any help would be appreciated. No one in game can figure this out and I have almost lost any hope of leveling this paragon

With NF theres a little grinding as to you sunspear rank the thing which stands out to me is maybe that you need to go out into an explorable area grab the bounty from the res shrine to help raise your ss rank kill foes until you have the right rank.

Did you take the bounties while questing? Those early NF-bounties give extra sunspear points and double xp...

It's been a few years since i created characters in NF, but i cant rememeber having the same problems as you (everything went very smoothly), so i think you are missing something important (like taking bounties).

Leveled two characters up through Nightfall including my Paragon. You are on Istan the starting island where there are plenty of quests. Are you doing the missions?

Istan should get you on up to level 18.5 'ish without much grinding so something is very wrong.

The problem is, that bounty disappears once you zone out. It isn't available once you leave the explorable area and your double exp and gaining sunspear stops once you clear the area, unless I am seriously missing something.

I no longer have any way to gain sunspear ranks at all, quests have all been done and no bounty available.

I cant find where any of those missions are available to me.

I spent almost the entire night (up until 2am last night) reading wiki, running around etc, and only managed to scrounge up four additional quests, all of which were in Zehlon Reach, and only two gave sunspear points.

I suppose my only option is to start another alt and figure out where I went wrong with the first one, or, grind out 1.5 more levels (currently level 10) at a rate of 8-20 exp per kill, which could take 6+ hours of pure grinding hell.

So then you leave the zone, re-enter, take the bounty again, and kill more stuff. Besides - if you only need 140 points to get your next rank, then you should only have to kill, what, 35 monsters? there is no area in istan that has less than 35 monsters, so you shouldn't have to rezone.

this cant be true. if you cant get a bounty then you must be above the SS points for that area in nm. if you tell us what you SS level is we might be able to help find a shrine that can help you.

ok, so a guildie came out to help me. We tried all of the shrines in the Kama area and got none. Then we moved on to another little section and still none. She said it was strange. We moved on to another area, around Diggings, and suddenly they started popping up. Is this normal though? This is why I wasn't able to find them, because only one section was apparently giving them and no other.

Istan can be very frustrating to level up on, get a taxi to kaineng centre and use the lvl 20 hench there to do all the 3000xp reward quests, you will be lvl 20 in a half an hour

so which heroes do you have? You start with Koss, do you also have dunkoro, tahlkora, melonnie and one of the students (jin or sosuke) ? Which missions have you done besides Chuback village?

I remember this being a common occurence when NF launched. Since people didn't use bounties, they found themselves in the situation above: no more bounties, no more quests.

HOWEVER, I think there was always an area where they could still get bounties. I hope these Wiki notes will be of service.

Well sometimes as above post point out you miss the bounty shrines

But a little tip next time u have a low char....you can easily get your 30 points before level 7.

An example is when you start take first bounty then at sunspear hall take other even at level 2..kill plants and spiders..remeber ur xp will drop to practicaly zero even with the Bounty...But, Remember its not xp ur after its sunspear rank points i just came off island with over 1000 points very easily .on an alt ac with the only grind that was at level 3/6 just killing plants and spiders and became survivor on consulate docks mission.

As I take it your trying to get honourable General done and minus the points then have you did the 3 (Master quests) one in cliffs up at the sunspear camp..the other 2 in zolon reach one to free spirits and the other to kill the skale boss..just a few that may boost you enough.

I think what has happened is that you have reached the max suspear rank necessary for where you are, but you have not done the next mission.

So have you chosen your secondary profession?
What heroes do you have? Koss, Dunkuro, Meloni?
Have you met with General Morghan and tested yourself against his troupes?
Have you met with Meloni in Zehlon Reach and done the mission in Jokanur Diggings that opens up the rest of noob island?
Have you gone to sun docks?

When you run out of quests that often means it is mission time.

There's a rule for the whole NF campaign - never rush into a zone without getting the bounties on your way. Before entering an explorable zone (that is - pretty much everything BUT missions), check it on the wiki to see where's the most desirable bounty (yields the most points, because there are loads of creatures of that type in the zone) and try to get it, unless it'd mean going far away from your goal (quest, and so on).
This is especially crucial when vanquishing, if you're not max with Sunspears and Whispers yet. Also, keep in mind, you won't be able to max out the Sunspear and the Lightbringer titles in normal mode - you will encounter the same kind of block, NPCs will tell you 'you're too cool for us, go somewhere else' and won't bestow the bounty on you.

You most likely skipped the bounties while questing and now you are past the point of being able to grab them. There used to be little to no grind (this is hardly a grind if you did it right) in this game until titles were introduced which are completely optional and offer nothing of importance except cosmetic items in GW2 as of recently.

It's not your fault since you didn't know, I recall making the same mistake some years ago. I eventually had some high level help me and forget exactly what I did but lvl 20 and continued the game xD
